What does Super-LumiNova® mean?
Maximum luminosity for optimum readability.
Watches with luminescent elements offer improved readability in the dark - a decisive advantage for divers, outdoor enthusiasts and anyone who uses their watch in poor lighting conditions. The leading technology in this area is Swiss Super-LumiNova®, a phosphorescent material characterized by high luminosity and durability.
Safe, luminous strontium aluminate
Super-LumiNova® is based on strontium aluminate, which absorbs light and emits it again in the dark. In contrast to older, radioactive phosphors, it is completely harmless and does not require an external power source. A distinction is made between different variants depending on the mixture and pigmentation:
- Super-LumiNova® C1: White in daylight, glows greenish at around 30 % of maximum brightness.
- Super-LumiNova® C3: Yellowish-green in daylight, glows an intense green and is one of the brightest varieties.
- Super-LumiNova® BGW9: White to bluish in daylight, shines a cool blue in the dark.
- Super-LumiNova® Old Radium: Creamy beige with a warm, yellowish glow, inspired by vintage watches.
Discover maximum luminosity
The DiveSport Titanium Blue, for example, not only impresses with its outstanding resistance of 1,200 Vickers and 50 ATM water resistance, but also offers maximum luminosity and readability thanks to the Super-LumiNova® C3 X1.
