Changing and shortening metal bracelets
Quick-release spring bars, screw pins, friction pins, split pins with sleeve
Changing or shortening a metal bracelet requires certain steps, depending on the design. With the right tools, the process can be carried out safely and precisely. The following shows how to identify, correctly process and adjust the most common types of fastening.
Fastening types for metal bracelets
Various fastening systems are used for metal bracelets - CiRCULA uses quick-release spring bars. This technology enables bracelets to be changed quickly, safely and without tools. The metal strap can be easily shortened using screwed links and can be done at home using the screwdriver provided. Other common link connection methods used by other manufacturers are Friction pins (pinned links) and split pins with sleeve (two-part system with safety catch).

Step-by-step instructions for changing the CiRCULA
Strap with quick-release spring bars
- Place the watch on a soft surface with the back facing downwards
- Push the two small levers on the spring bar inwards with your fingernail.
- Remove the strap from the case.
- Click in the new strap in exactly the same way.
Shortening the strap with screw pins
- Loosen the screw on the desired side of the strap with the enclosed screwdriver.
- Remove the strap link.
- Reinsert the screw, paying attention to the direction in which it came out, and tighten.

Other fastening methods for metal bracelets
Not all manufacturers use spring bars. Depending on the model and price range, other fastening methods may also be used:
- Friction pins: To shorten, the strap is fixed with the arrow pointing downwards, the pin driver is applied and the pin is carefully driven out with a small hammer. When reinserting, the pin is pushed in against the direction of the arrow and tapped in flush so that it is flush with the belt.
- Split pins with sleeve: When shortening, the hinge is fixed, the sleeve is located and the split pin is driven out with a split pin driver - the sleeve falls out separately. The sleeve is then reinserted and the split pin is driven in from the opposite side.

Conclusion
With the right technique, the CiRCULA metal bracelet can be changed or shortened quickly and safely. Thanks to the use of quick-change spring bars, the strap can be changed particularly easily in just a few seconds - perfect for anyone who wants to adjust their watch themselves.
