Service in our watch workshop
Preserve the value of your Circula watch
After a few years, it is advisable to have your Circula watch checked by one of our experienced watchmakers to ensure that it continues to function precisely. The finest particles can be deposited in the movement and impair the mechanics, while the smallest scratches affect the visual impression of your watch. There is no fixed interval for revisions, as this depends on personal wearing behaviour. We recommend having a mechanical Circula watch serviced every three to seven years.
An indication that a mechanical watch should be serviced is a deterioration in accuracy. You can adjust this yourself using a reference time (smartphone or radio-controlled watch), for example. First set your watch exactly to the reference time. Make sure that your mechanical watch is fully wound. After 24 hours, compare the reference time (smartphone or radio-controlled watch) with the time on your watch. If the deviation is large, we recommend a servicing.
Have your watch serviced regularly to maintain its value and perfect functionality.
The service - craftsmanship at Circula
First measure precisely, ...
Our watchmakers use professional time scales to check the rate deviation and amplitude. The amplitude in particular provides information about the condition. It defines the oscillation amplitude - the maximum angle of rotation of the balance wheel between the equilibrium position and the reversal point of the oscillation. Amplitude values of mechanical movements are usually around 250° to 300°. This value decreases with increasing soiling, as the force from the barrel is no longer optimally transmitted to the oscillation system.
After checking the timepiece, our watchmaker carefully removes the movement and disassembles it into its individual parts. If he realises that a part has a high degree of wear, it will of course be replaced.
The service - maintaining the value
... then clean and maintain.
All parts of the automatic movement as well as the case and, if necessary, the stainless steel bracelet are then cleaned of dirt in the ultrasonic cleaner.
When the movement is subsequently reassembled, all moving parts are lubricated with a high-quality, modern watch oil. This oil is particularly long-lasting, does not gum up and ensures a permanently smooth mechanism. Finally, the movement is placed back in the case, checked and fine-adjusted by hand.
